Frequently Asked Questions
Can you install lighting I have already purchased?
Yes. We are happy to install fittings you have sourced yourself. Just make sure they are suitable for the intended location (e.g. IP-rated for bathrooms). If you are unsure, send us a photo and we will advise.
How much does it cost to install downlights?
It depends on the number of lights, ceiling type, and whether new circuits are needed. We provide a fixed quote after understanding the full scope. As a rough guide, a set of 6 LED downlights in an existing room typically takes half a day.
Do I need building regulations approval?
If we are adding a new lighting circuit or working in a bathroom or kitchen, the work may be notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations. As a registered electrician, we self-certify the work and provide the appropriate certificate.
Can you help with lighting design?
We can advise on positioning, colour temperature, and the number of fittings needed to light a room properly. For more complex projects, we work alongside interior designers to deliver the exact look you are after.
Do you fit smart lighting?
Yes. We can install smart switches, dimmers, and lighting systems that work with Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit. We handle the wiring and can help with initial setup.
