Electrical Remedial Works

Corrective works following EICR reports, fire risk assessments, and insurance inspections. We address defects efficiently and to the required standard.

What Triggers Remedial Works?

Remedial works are typically required following a formal inspection or assessment.

EICR Observations

C1 (danger present), C2 (potentially dangerous), and C3 (improvement recommended) observations from Electrical Installation Condition Reports. We address all coded items to bring your installation up to standard.

Learn about EICRs

Fire Risk Assessments

Electrical defects or recommendations identified in your fire risk assessment. We resolve these efficiently to help you meet your obligations under the Fire Safety Order.

Insurance Requirements

Defects flagged by insurance inspectors or loss adjusters. We carry out the corrective works and provide documentation to satisfy your insurer's conditions.

Scheduled Upgrades

Non-urgent improvements identified during routine maintenance or testing that should be addressed within a reasonable timeframe to maintain safety standards.

Understanding Observation Codes

EICR reports use these standard codes to classify the severity of each defect.

C1

Danger Present

An immediate risk exists. Requires urgent remedial action -- the defect should be addressed as a priority before any further use.

C2

Potentially Dangerous

A defect that could become dangerous. Requires remedial action as soon as possible to prevent a C1 situation developing.

C3

Improvement Recommended

The installation does not fully comply with current standards but is not immediately dangerous. Improvement is recommended where practicable.

FI

Further Investigation

A potential issue has been identified but requires further investigation to determine the full extent. This may reveal additional C1, C2, or C3 observations.

Our Remedial Works Process

1

Review Your Report

Send us your EICR, fire risk assessment, or insurance report. We review all observations and create a clear scope of works.

2

Quotation

We provide a detailed, itemised quotation covering every defect. No hidden costs -- you know exactly what each item involves and what it costs.

3

Carry Out Works

We schedule the remedial works at a time that suits you. We can prioritise C1 items for immediate attention and programme the rest efficiently.

4

Re-Test & Certify

After completing all works, we re-test the affected circuits and provide updated documentation confirming compliance. Your EICR can then be updated to satisfactory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you work from another contractor's EICR report?

Yes. We regularly carry out remedial works based on reports produced by other contractors. Send us the report and we will review the observations and provide a quotation to address everything listed.

How quickly can C1 (danger present) items be addressed?

C1 observations represent an immediate risk and should be dealt with urgently. We prioritise these and can often attend the same day or next working day to make the installation safe.

Do I need to fix C3 (improvement recommended) items?

C3 items are not mandatory but are recommended. They indicate areas where the installation does not fully meet current standards. Addressing them improves safety and can be beneficial for insurance and compliance purposes.

Will I get an updated EICR after the remedial works?

If the original EICR was carried out by us, we update it to reflect the completed remedial works. If the EICR was done by another contractor, we provide a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate for the remedial items, which you can submit to the original inspector for an updated overall assessment.

Do you provide a warranty on remedial works?

Yes. All remedial works come with a workmanship warranty. We re-test everything we touch and provide the appropriate certification. Any materials installed carry their manufacturer warranty.

Need remedial works carried out?

Send us your EICR or inspection report and we will provide a clear quotation to address every item. Fast turnaround on urgent defects.
